Customer Service Representative

Department: Irving, TX

Compensation: Commensurate to experience

Schedule: Full Time

Description: Responsible for the coordination and administration of operational duties directly related to the business of operations of the company and the customers. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following but may vary dependent upon the business needs of the company and the employee’s specific area of responsibility. Other duties within the position may be assigned.

Responsibilites:

  • Manages customer base, understands customer expectations and provides service that meets or exceeds those expectations.
  • Develops and maintains profitable traffic lanes in coordination with various departments within the organization
  • Solicits outbound freight for equipment destined to deliver within the assigned geographic territory. Includes when necessary, soliciting freight for other areas.
  • Timely enters available loads in the computer with all required information to properly schedule all appointments, dispatch and pick up the load, create the freight bill and supply the customer with any EDI information required.
  • Schedules all loading and unloading appointments so as to meet the customer’s requirements and to maximize the driver’s and equipment’s productivity.
  • Traces all shipments while under dispatch from the time the load is picked up until it is delivered.
  • Communicates with the Marketing Representative for the assigned territory; and timely advises necessary parties of any customer problems or equipment imbalance. Work with Marketing to keep the customer commitments current.
  • Monitors on time pickup and delivery of booked freight on a daily basis. Goal = 100% on-time.
  • Maintain the proper trailer pools within the assigned area and confirm the numbers are correct on a weekly basis—work with the load planner.
  • Must be able to provide, understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral or scheduled form.
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of patience.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and/or college degree in Logistics and/or Business
  • 6 months of experience
  • Must pass company drug screen.
  • Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Conducts follow up on customer concerns in a timely, professional, efficient and concise manner and keep Marketing Representative informed of these issues.
  • Computer knowledge is required: AS400, Microsoft applications: Excel and Word preferred
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers.
  • Maintains proper communication and cooperation with drivers, customers and coworkers.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
